I have a "sandbox" that is in constant metamorphasis. It currently has Ubuntu Linux 6.10 (A Debian distro), but it has had a multitude of OS'es on it: Windows (98SE, ME, and 2000), Lindows (Linspire), multiple distros of Linux (Debian, Red Hat, SuSE, Mandrake, Knoppix, XandrOS, Caldera, PHLAK, Vector, Zenwalk, Dream Linux, Fore Sight, PCLinux OS), Solaris, BeOS, Syllable, ArOS, and SkyOS. The machine itself is an old Compaq 5461 Presario with a 500 mhz AMD processor and 384 megs of RAM. One of my BiC's gave it to me because he said it would not boot. It had a bad hard drive and once I replaced it and loaded Linux on it, it runs as a file and print server without any problems at all.

I also have an HP Omnibook PIII laptop (650 mhz, 256 megs RAM) that has SimplyMepis Linux on it as well. Mepis is pretty neat and it runs well enough on the old laptop...I was even able to get wireless working. Go me.
